🌟 It's been an exhilarating start to the school year, and we're excited to share some highlights from our first week in the After-School Program. 📚 From homework help to exciting activities, we've got a lot to share!
Intro to Media Production
Every Monday at 6pm, we teach our young people about media production. Over the last 3 weeks, students learned about A and B Roll, voiceover, as well as shooting and editing techniques. This class equips our young people with the 21st Century skills they need to be successful.
Homework Help and Tutoring
Every day, we are all about getting down to business with Homework Help. 📖 We were able to lend a helping hand with tricky math problems, ELA essays, and everything in between. Our goal is to help them set the tone for a productive week ahead. 💪✏️
Culinary Adventures
Every Wednesday is Culinary Arts! 🍽️👨🍳👩🍳 This week, we whipped up some delicious apple tarts and peach turnovers! Kids enjoyed thinly slicing their fruit and making beautiful puff pastries.
Virtual Reality Voyages
Thursday was an adventure like no other as we delved into the realm of virtual reality with Oculus VR. 🕶️🎮 Students tried their hand at a variety of games including Beat Saber!
Creative Arts Club
Friday, we explored our artistic sides with a captivating painting session. 🎨🖌️ We tried to get them to do a guided art session but they insisted on using their own creative expression.
This was just week one! We look forward to all the upcoming weeks have to offer. Next week, we begin planning our mural as we paint a beautiful scene in our youth room!
