As Founder and Executive Director of the F.O.C.U.S. Youth Network, Devon Buchanan works to not only provide innovative educational and recreational programs for youth and their families, but also serve as an advocate for urban youth. Devon is committed to developing youth into positively contributing members of their communities.
With a solid 14 years of progressive youth programming experience in sports camps and clinics, outdoor recreation, health, physical, and multicultural education, Devon Buchanan has held a variety of positions with non-profit agencies such as the YMCA, local government agencies in Loudoun County, Virginia and the City of Gaithersburg Maryland. For the last 8 years, Devon has been a Health and Physical educator at high performing charter schools in Newark, NJ and most recently in his home town of Philadelphia.
Devon received his B.S. in Recreation Management from East Stroudsburg University and is currently pursuing his M.A. in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. He is a proud member of NExT Philadelphia, an affinity group of the National Urban League, Circle of Greatness Academy, and #Grindation professional network. Devon currently resides in Yeadon, Pa with his wife, Amanda.

ATHLETIC AND FITNESS TRAINING
Our Certified Sport Nutritionists will teach you to construct nutritious meals to meet your athletic and fitness needs. Our staff will help you to assess your current athletic or fitness level, create a plan, and help you reach your goals through coaching and accountability.
NUTRITION AND WELLNESS EDUCATION
Our Certified Nutritionists will teach youth the basics of the 6 nutrients while providing them with a foundation of knowledge. Our staff will teach young people to construct meals on a budget, from local resources, without compromising flavor.
Our Certified Mindfulness Instructors will also provide youth with proven techniques to help relieve stress and assist and spiritual and emotional growth.
Our service based programs give youth an opportunity to give back and have a voice in the community. Through powerful motivational forums, PowerTalks, and service learning initiatives, youth of all ages will learn the powerful tools of self-expression and altruism.
The game of chess helps to develop strong character. Our chess club will not only teach the basics of chess to youth, but also teach strategy while helping to build self-confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Outdoor Club is a game changer. Outdoor Club will expose our youth to the beautiful world of state and national parks. While exploring Philadelphia is fun and informative, the Outdoor Club seeks to expose our youth to nature while exploring scientific principles, and factors affecting our environment. Outdoor clubs also seeks to curb the effects of childhood obesity by lowering blood sugar, blood pressure, and body fat through aerobic exercise.
Our Technology club will give youth the skills they need to be successful in the challenging world of information technology. Youth will learn to use Microsoft Office Applications, Presi, IOS and Android application creation, as well as coding.
